What Is Polyurethane Concrete Raising?
A trained contractor first drills small holes into the concrete slab. Once the holes are in place, specialized, high-density polyurethane foam is strategically injected into the void through the holes and into the void below the concrete surface. The foam expands and hardens rapidly which lifts and stabilizes the sunken concrete back into it’s original position. Once the injections are complete and the concrete has been perfectly leveled and stabilized, the drill holes are then refilled with quick setting concrete. Once this is done, the treated concrete structure is almost immediately usable again.
Spray Pros’ high-density polyurethane injected foam is used for lifting and stabilizing concrete. Because of it’s capacity to rapidly expand and cure into a material that is incredibly strong, it works great for completely filling the void causing the sunken concrete. The properties of the polyurethane foam also make it so that the foam actually creates a built-in moisture barrier.
Spray foam jacking is by far the most economical option both in the short term and the long term as compared to concrete replacement or mudjacking. It also does a better job at preserving the look of your concrete because it requires far fewer and smaller drill holes compared to concrete injection.
Why Does Concrete Settle?
The single biggest reason that concrete sinks is because the supporting ground beneath the cement structure settles. This creates a void and because concrete is so heavy, once the supporting ground settles it won’t take long for the concrete to do likewise.
